Are you ready?
As summer fades the calendar swells, bulging with activities. The thought of it makes me sweat. I’M. NOT. READY.
But the clock tics, and the days pass, even at my resistance.
What about you? Are you ready to dive into another school year? For the rest of the world the new year begins in January; however, if you’re a mom or a minister the new year begins in August. Our calendars are dictated by the school district’s agenda.
Gearing Up!
By January we have 5 months under our belts, and January is for resolutions and promises left unkept anyhow. But August, now August, is the month to gear up. Get prepared. Fill the calendar with revolving events and must-attend curriculum nights. For the umpteenth time.
Side rant…I mean seriously. How many curriculum nights does a parent really need to attend?
Anyhooo, it’s August. Summer is dwindling, but my favorite season is knocking. Even the Birch tree in my front yard is beginning to shed yellow leaves. The ol’ girl is gearing up herself.
Drawing Near
If nature responds to God shouldn’t we? In the book of James it says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” As we prepare for our upcoming semester of Bible study, let’s draw near to God now. Let’s not wait. Waiting is for wimps. Let’s gear up BEFORE we begin, so that we may expect to be used by Him, for Him, and for others!
See you at “Meet the Ministries” on August 28th!
You are loved,
Dawn
