Getting Real Ministries is all about helping YOU know God deeply and understand His Word accurately, cultivating an unwavering faith grounded in Scripture and active in your daily life.

GRM is a group of fearsome and faithful peeps representing numerous Christian denominations and no denominations at all, bound together by our love for Jesus Christ. Our feet are planted in the western suburbs of Chicago, our roots reach into other areas of the country and world. As a result, GRM has been blessed to become a ministry formed by friends, unlimited by physical boundaries.

Together we are journeying to discover what it means to know God deeply, living a life through a relationship with Christ, empowering us to become the best versions of ourselves.

Founder and President

Hey there!
I’m Dawn, wife to Tony, mom to three grown children, “Booga” to three silly yet precious granddaughters, one adorable baby grandson, and mother-in-law to two special guys and a beautiful daughter-in-law.
I am also a women’s minister, writer, public speaker, and Bible teacher who is passionate about people and the Bible. I am devoted to helping you know God deeply and understand His Word accurately, cultivating an unwavering faith grounded in Scripture and active in your daily life.

Mary Faye

Director of Prayer Ministry

I’m a wife, mother, and grandmother of three adorable grandchildren. My degree is in Early Childhood Education from the University of Illinois. I am a Moms in Prayer mom, praying in a local Moms in Prayer group since 1996. I have served as an elder and a prayer coordinator for my church and am also involved in pro-life prayer ministry. I began attending the GRM Bible study in 2010 and officially joined the GRM team several years later. My desire is to see women “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” through studying and praying His Word.

Elizabeth

Administrative Assistant

Hi, I am Elizabeth. I am the administrative assistant for GRM and have been working
and attending GRM since 2016. I love serving the Lord. Prior to working with GRM, I
worked with the youth ministry at First Presbyterian Church for many years. My fulltime
job is being a 6th grade math teacher at Cowherd Middle School in Aurora. I graduated
from Monmouth College with my bachelors in elementary education and completed my
master’s in leadership and administration from St. Francis University. I love spending
time with family and friends and most importantly God. In my spare time, I enjoy
traveling and seeing the world.

Discipleship Ministry Leader

Hi, I’m Tia Lucia—a walking miracle the doctors never saw coming. By age five, I was expected to be in a wheelchair. By seven, blind. And if things went well? Maybe I’d survive high school. Yet here I am, in my late twenties, walking, running, seeing— living a life I never imagined possible. When man said, “Impossible,” God said, “Watch this.”
I’m a wife, mom, motivational speaker, and avid evangelist— passionate about making a lasting impact. It is an honor to serve as a spokesperson for Make-A-Wish, American Red Cross, Heartland Blood Centers, and The Wellness Way—sharing my story with authenticity, energy, and hope at events from school assemblies to major conferences.

Life is journey with lots of ups and downs. I am being made new, getting a fresh start. I have 4 fabulous children who make me proud every day. I recently got remarried to a man that I can truly say is my best friend, Rohan. He has been an amazing example of God’s grace. Rohan didn’t know how many prayers God answered through him. I didn’t know how crazy creative God would answer my prayers. The ways God renews us are just extraordinary. Rohan continually points me to God and shares adventures with me. Currently our adventure has been starting a business together (Cool Christian Tees, LLC) with the goal of spreading the gospel. I also have a design business, Teitge Design that has been a blessing. I enjoy using my gifts to glorify God.
