Job loss.
Homelessness.
Broken Families
Racism.
Death.
Oh Jesus, the world seems such a mess. Hopelessness and disasters everywhere. So much suffering and unending pain. Yet, because of You, all is well. Because of Your birth, death, and resurrection, there is hope for eternity. All is well forever and ever.
Jesus, all is well because You are:
The Christ: He pressed them, “And how about you? Who do you say I am? Simon Peter said, “You’re the Christ, the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Matt 16:15-16 MSG
Emmanuel: All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us). Matt 1:22-23 ESV
Lord: Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Phil 2:9-11
Savior: But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” Matt 1:20-21
Dearest Jesus, when my heart wants to fret and worry over all the suffering in this world, remind me–You have come. Come into this broken world, delivering us from sin and death, bringing peace and hope and love. Therefore, all is truly well.
