He loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord.
Psalm 33:5 ESV
O LORD, You alone are the God of steadfast love. Your steadfast love defines Your relationship with Your people. Words are so inadequate to describe the magnitude and depth of Your great love for me, a sinner saved only by Your grace.
Your steadfast love towards me is unwavering, constant, immovable, firm.
Your steadfast love:
- Endures forever. (Psalm 100:5)
- Never ceases. (Lamentations 3:22-23)
- Surrounds those who trust in You. (Psalm 32:10)
- Leads us. (Exodus 15:13)
- Gives life. (Psalm 119:88)
Father, I thank You for the ways Your steadfast love has “steadied” me. When my feet were slipping and I was afraid, Your steadfast love upheld me. (Psalm 94:18). When the enemy of my soul was flooding my mind with doubt and temptations, You answered my prayers and rescued me because of Your steadfast love. (Psalm 69:13-16) When sorrows overwhelmed my broken heart, Your steadfast love comforted me. (Psalm 119:76)
Because You love me so faithfully, I am freed to live a steadfast life in response. Your enduring love enables me to:
- Trust You confidently, never fearing bad news. (Psalm 112:6-8)
- Choose joy in the midst of my trials, knowing You are growing my faith and endurance for my good. (James 1:2-4)
- Persevere with hope, believing You will help and deliver me as I wait on You. (Psalm 33:18-22)
May I daily live a life of steadfast faith as I dwell in the assurance of Your steadfast and unwavering love for me.
