Life is difficult isn’t it? I was warned, you were probably as well.
But who imagined the vastness?
How are you handling the challenges of life’s pain? Are you “soaring on wings like eagles,” or are you ready to throw in the towel?
Remember, “this is only a test.”
This week at GRM we studied James 1:12-18. We talked a lot about testing versus temptation. Both are trials. Tests are from God meant for your good, and temptations come from the enemy meant for destruction. Can you tell the difference? For reassurance James reminds us that “God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone” (1:13).
But here’s the catch, even a trial can lead to temptation when we question God’s goodness or choose to compromise, disobey, and run from God.
Our “tests” are to refine us. Mold us. Even make us whole. Tests are designed to fill the fractures of our dysfunctional lives. Temptations, well temptations are meant for death. Truly. I’m not joking here.
What to do? Cling to Christ. How? Dust off your Bible and read it. Then hang on and pray! Did you know that crying out to God was perfected by the great Patriarchs who have gone before us? It worked for them. It will work for you. I know. I’ve done it, and it worked.
James writes, “Blessed is the man (and woman) who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the ‘test,’ he will receive the crown of life.”
Remember, this is only a test.
